Joyce’s 84th Birthday

There is one little lady who is always smiling and singing.

My son and I have been visiting Haven Lodge as part of an intergenerational project with the women of Wandsworth for the past 3 years. Joyce and her daughter Bubble are always a pleasure to see and talked to. Following last month Dorothy’s 100th birthday celebration, I decided to prepare a little surprise video for joyce with the help of Bubble.

Happy 84th Birthday Joyce from Keepsake Videos.

A video made of pictures, music and video can bring those memories to life.

Dorothy’s 100th Birthday Video

Keepsake videos made a little film to celebrate Dorothy Papard’s 100th celebration. A small film made of old photos of Dorothy was shown on the day with Dorothy’s favorite songs. Keepsake videos filmed the celebration and merged the two films into one. Here is the result. We love sharing this fantastic time with you.

Battersea Stories Video

Last March, Keepsake Videos has been invited to help to spread the word about “Battersea Stories” which is a project funded by Wandsworth Art Grant.

I met the lovely Emma Faulkner, the director of Lightbox Theatre and we discussed a small film project to promote her vision of a play based on the stories of  Battersea residents.

With the Wandsworth Art Grant, Emma has visited, interviewed and recorded over 60 local residents, carefully chosen the best bits of the stories, put them together in a play re-enacted by actors and performed it in front of the local resident.

“Battersea Stories” was shown at the York Gardens Library on the 20th of March and was well received by the local residents.

Keepsake Videos put a small videotogether to showcase the project and help “Battersea Stories” to get more funding and to make more shows and sharing stories and histories of an area.

Update: On the 26th of June 2014, “Battersea Stories” was awarded £500 from Big Local SW11 to continue devellop the project. Contact emma at [email protected] if you would like to be involved.

Providence House 50th Birthday

I have been very happy to have been contracted for the second time by Providence House to do another video project with the young people.

For the last 6 weeks, I have set up a youth media team to film and edit a video for the centre 50th anniversary celebration and teach them the rope of Media and film editing.

This video was filmed and partly edited by the young people under my Supervision.

Providence House, one of London’s oldest youth clubs has celebrated its 50th Anniversary yesterday, on the 10th of May. This well loved centre in Falcon Road has served generations of Children on the York Road and Winstanley estates, from “Teddy Boys” in the Sixties to members of the rap group So Solid Crew in the Nineties. Robert Musgrave, who has run it for 40 years, got an MBE in 2011.

This video shows the importance and the the positive role it has played in all the lives of the people who have been involved with it.
